Prof. Tianyou Chai

Experience: Tianyou Chai received the Ph.D. degree in control theory and engineering in 1985 from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, where he became a professor in 1988. He is the founder and Director of the Center of Automation, which became a National Engineering and Technology Research Center and a State Key Laboratory. He is a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, IFAC Fellow and IEEE Fellow. He has served as director of Department of Information Science of National Natural Science Foundation of China from 2010 to 2018. His current research interests include modeling, control, optimization and integrated automation and intelligence of complex industrial processes. He has published 356 peer reviewed international journal papers. His paper titled Hybrid intelligent control for optimal operation of shaft furnace roasting process was selected as one of three best papers for the Control Engineering Practice Paper Prize for 2011-2013. He has developed control technologies with applications to various industrial processes. For his contributions, he has won 5 prestigious awards of National Natural Science, National Science and Technology Progress and National Technological Innovation, the 2007 Industry Award for Excellence in Transitional Control Research from IEEE Multiple-conference on Systems and Control, and the 2017 Wook Hyun Kwon Education Award from Asian Control Association.
Prof. Bin Hu

Experience: Prof. Bin Hu received his Ph. D. degree in computer science from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Science in 1998. He is a National Distinguished Expert, the Chief Scientist of 973 as well as the National Advanced Worker in 2020, who was elected as a IEEE/IET/AAIA Fellow. He is a Member of the Steering Council of the ACM China Council and the Vice-Chair of the China Committee of the International Society for Social Neuroscience. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems. He is also the TC Co-Chair of computational psychophysiology in the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (SMC). He is a Member of the Steering Committee of Computer Science at the Chinese Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Commission at the Chinese Ministry of Education. His awards include the 2014 China Overseas Innovation Talent Award, the 2016 Chinese Ministry of Education Technology Invention Award, the 2018 Chinese National Technology Invention Award, and the 2019 WIPO-CNIPA Award for Chinese Outstanding Patented Invention. He is a Principal Investigator for large grants such as the National Transformative Technology “Early Recognition and Intervention Technology of Mental Disorders Based on Psychophysiological Multimodal Information”, which have greatly promoted the development of objective, quantitative diagnosis and non-drug interventions for mental disorders.
Prof. Zhigang Zeng

Conducted postdoctoral research at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Science and Technology of China. Prof. Junfei Qiao

Experience: Junfei Qiao is a professor and doctoral advisor at Beijing University of Technology. He is a leader of the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Innovative Research Group, a Distinguished Professor of the "Changjiang Scholar Award Program", and a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Currently, he serves as a member of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, a member of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education, the director of the Beijing Laboratory of Smart Environmental Protection, and the director of the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Perception and Autonomous Control. Professor Qiao has long been engaged in research in the fields of computational intelligence and intelligent optimization control, as well as environmental protection automation. He has published over 200 academic papers in authoritative journals both domestically and internationally and has been awarded more than 100 patents, including U.S. patents and national invention patents. He has authored six academic books. His research achievements have been applied in dozens of environmental protection enterprises, making pioneering contributions to the development of environmental protection automation and intelligence.
Prof. Xinbo Gao

Experience: Prof. Xinbo Gao is the President of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China, Vice Chairman of Chongqing Association for Science and Technology, Director of the "the Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory of the China-South Korea Industrial Internet of Things of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Director of the Key Laboratory of Information Perception and Transmission of the Ministry of Education, China. Also, He is a Changjiang Professor of Xidian University, and Director of the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education for Big Data Security. He received the B.Eng., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering, signal and information processing from Xidian University in 1994, 1997, and 1999, respectively. From 1997 to 1998, he was a research fellow at the Department of Computer Science, Shizuoka University, Japan. From 2000 to 2001, he was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Information Engineering, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since 1999, he has been at the School of Electronic Engineering, Xidian University and now he is a Professor of Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System. Since 2020, he has been also a Professor of Computer Science and Technology of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
Prof. Guoxiang Gu

Experience: Guoxiang Gu (F’10) received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA, in 1988. From 1988 to 1990, he was with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Wright State University, Dayton, OH, USA, as a Visiting Assistant Professor. He has held visiting positions with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH, USA, and with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong. Since 1990, he joined Louisiana State University (LSU), Baton Rouge, LA, USA, where he is currently a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has authored two books, over 80 archive journal papers, and numerous book chapters and conference papers. His research interests include networked feedback control, system identification, and statistical signal processing. Dr. Gu served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control from January 1998 to December 2001 and from January 2018 to December 2021, SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization from 2006 to 2009, and Automatica from 2006 to 2012. He is currently the F. Hugh Coughlin/CLECO Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering at LSU.
Prof. H.K. Lam

Experience: Prof. H K. Lam's research interests include fuzzy control systems, neural networks, chaotic synchronisation and genetic algorithms. He has authored/co-authored over 480 publications on these topics. He was an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs and is an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, IET Control Theory and Applications, International Journal of Fuzzy Systems, Neurocomputing and Nonlinear Dynamics. He is a co-editor for two edited volumes: Control of Chaotic Nonlinear Circuits (World Scientific, 2009) and Computational Intelligence and Its Applications (World Scientific, 2012), and the author/co-author of the books Stability Analysis of Fuzzy-Model-Based Control Systems (Springer, 2011), Polynomial Fuzzy Model Based Control Systems (Springer 2016), Interval Type-2 Fuzzy-Model-Based Systems (Springer, 2016). He is an IEEE Fellow for contributions to analysis and design of fuzzy model-based control systems. He has been named a Highly Cited Researcher (Clarivate Web of Science) since 2018.
